The entire series can be watched individually by topic or all at once in 44 minutes as seen here.

Members of the Eldercare Alliance helped to create the video and used their professional expertises to highlight the various topics included in the series including legal and financial considerations, home care, moving to a new home, end-of-life care and more. Now that it is warmer outside and the sun is shining longer, it is time to get outside and soak up as much vitamin D as you can. There are many health benefits of Vitamin D including healthier bones, reduced risk of flu and diabetes, reduction of cancer cell progression, cardiovascular health, healthier pregnancies, mood elevation and many others. Along with a healthy diet that includes fish oils and egg proteins, it is estimated that sensible sun exposure on bare skin for 5-10 minutes 2-3 times per week allows most people to produce sufficient vitamin D.

Here are some suggestions for outdoor activities that can be fun and can increase your overall health:

  • Take a walk
  • Plant a garden
  • Watch a local outdoor sporting event
  • Ride a bike
  • Feed the ducks
  • Visit an arboretum
